ABOUT
ME
Well, thanks for asking. You must be wondering if weโll be a good โfitโ to work together.
Hereโs the deal: Our coaching relationship will never be about me. Our focus is always on YOU. Still, I have had unique experiences that might provide some real-life examples that might help you better understand your situation and reach your success (which is my goal for you).
Below is an abridged list of the life events and situations that provided me with the joy, grit, and resilience I bring to the table when we work together.
Iโve been married over 25 years. Our marriage has not always been as easy as it is now. Cindy and I both made our relationship a priority and have put A LOT of work and time into it. Good marriages donโt just happen.
I adopted Cindyโs two children, Jordan and Zach, when they were 4 and 2 years old. So, I know something about step parenting and blended families. I love and enjoy my kids, and they love and enjoy me. Bold statement? I can arrange for you to talk to them directly. They are my best referrals.
Iโve walked along side my wife when she had one week to live after her cancer diagnosis at 31, while she was pregnant. Six months of chemo and two years of recovery. You had medical drama? Iโm with you. Then her heart, lungs, and liver started failing. I walked her, and our young family, which now included baby Brandon, through open heart and open lung surgeries. Crazy stories. Long battles for both of us.
Iโve raised a rebellious child, a compliant child, and one somewhere in between. Iโm continuing to build my relationship with my new son-in-law, Chris. Heโs a great guy and fits our family well.
Iโm the youngest of five children. I was raised in a shame-based family (thank you Jeff Van Vonderen). Iโve buried two brothers and my dad. I take care of my 91-year-old mother.
Bachelorโs degree, MBA, 35+ years of leadership and management positions in corporate America. Iโve hired and fired people. Iโve laid off and been laid off. Iโve coached leaders into promotions, and Iโve helped others save their career.
I train in boxing, karate, and have run a few marathons. I race sail boats (not mine). Iโve filled 3 logbooks with SCUBA dives all around the world. Iโve taught others to dive. I bag summits. I search for and rescue lost and perished hikers.
I was born in California, lived in San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego, Las Vegas, and even survived eight winters in Rochester, MN.
Iโve worked at Disneyland, Sea World, Super Bowl XXII, and catered celebrity filled parties in Newport Beach and the Hollywood hills. Iโve sung Happy Birthday to Shaun Cassidy standing next to Barry Manilow.
Lifeโs been hard and fun. Give me a call and letโs get living.
